Barker Olmsted & Barnier (previoulsy Barker Law Group) offers mediation services through its managing partner, Douglas H. Barker. Mr. Barker has earned a solid reputation for serving attorneys and their clients, having been selected to serve as a neutral in over a thousand cases.

Mr Barker founded Barker Law Group in 1994, following 14 years with Gray Cary Ames & Frye (now DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary). After more than two decades of advocating on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, Mr. Barker made the natural transition into alternative dispute resolution. His genuine desire to work with parties to resolve differences prior to trial, combined with extensive training through Pepperdine University and the American Bar Association has equipped Mr. Barker with the skills necessary to work though and resolve the most difficult of cases.

As an experienced trial attorney, Mr. Barker understands the challenges facing attorneys and litigants, and he maintains a strong sense of how judges and juries treat cases. His insight and creativity enable him to facilitate productive dialogue even in the most complex matters. In addition, Mr. Barker offers a tailored approach, empowering parties and lawyers to determine the most effective route to reach their objectives. His style is flexible, according to the needs of each case and the participants involved.

An active proponent of alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Barker offers educational seminars and presentations to fellow mediators through the National Conflict Resolution Center and the San Diego County Bar Association.
