San Diego Business Attorneys
In fiscal year 2003-2004, 107,597 civil lawsuits were filed in San Diego County. Given that statistic, the odds are that most business will end up in court sooner or later. Barker Olmsted & Barnier's business litigation attorneys lead businesses through the litigation process to achieve the best possible result. Our attorneys represent businesses in all litigation forums, including jury and bench trials, arbitration, mediation, and appeals.
The firm’s philosophy is to take a practical approach to litigation instead of racing blindly down the path to court. We respect a business’ financial constraints and attempt to work within a legal budget that is proportional to the stakes in the case. We endeavor to keep clients involved in the process by communicating through each phase of the case. We attempt to avoid surprises with respect to fees and costs by carefully planning the necessary work and involving the client in the process.
The firm’s litigation practice covers most aspects of business and commercial litigation. Common examples include:
- Breach of contract
- Real estate litigation
- Commercial landlord/tenant disputes
- Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) disputes
- Misappropriation of trade secrets
- Unfair business practices (Business & Professions Code § 17200)
- ADA access claims
- Insurance coverage disputes
- Trade libel and false advertising
- Product defects, warranties
- Consumer claims
- Interference with contractual relationships
- Construction litigation
- Professional negligence
- Creditors rights and remedies
