Barker Olmsted & Barnier, APLC offers interactive “webinar” training, presented to managers and supervisors.

Participants learn to identify sexual harassment, become familiar with company policy, and discover what to do if they witness, experience, or receive a complaint of harassment.

This workshop is offered over the internet with a concurrent telephone conference call in number. The workshop fulfills the legal mandates of state and federal law. Each two-hour workshop entails a presentation by Mr. Olmsted, interactive Q&A, and reference handouts.

Topics:

(1) General overview and introductory hypothetical
(2) State and federal statistics
(3) A definition of unlawful sexual harassment under state and federal law.
(4) Types of conduct that constitutes sexual harassment.
(5) “Practical examples,” including factual scenarios taken from case law, news and media accounts, hypotheticals based on workplace situations and other sources which illustrate sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation using. (Note: the examples are given throughout the training session.)
(6) Principles concerning the prohibition against and the prevention of unlawful sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation in employment.
(7) Remedies available for sexual harassment.
(8) Strategies for supervisors to prevent sexual harassment.
(9) Understanding the limited confidentiality of the complaint process.
(10) Resources for victims/reporting procedures.
(11) Meeting the company’s obligation to investigate.
(12) What to do if the supervisor is personally accused of harassment.
(13) Review of company harassment policy
(14) Conclusion

Includes: Training certificate with acknowledgment of participation and review/understanding of company policy.
